FAQs

Do I have to share things or speak to others in the workshops?

No, not unless you want to. The workshops are there to teach you more about your mind and understand yourself better. There will be opportunities for people to reflect on what they’ve learnt and understood, or to ask questions, but there is no expectation to share these thoughts. These workshops are not talking therapy groups and you are not expected to share anything.

What are your qualifications?

I am a qualified and registered Mental Health nurse. You are able to search for me on the national Nursing and Midwifery Council register to confirm this. I am bound by the Nursing Code of Conduct.

I have various qualifications in different therapeutic modalities including CBT, CBTe, Multi-family therapy and other psychosocial models.

I also have extensive training in leadership, clinical innovation and management.

I am also a 350 hour trained yoga teacher, with additional trauma informed restorative yoga. My training allows me to teach teens and up (to any age).

I hold insurance and indemnity cover for both qualifications.

I’ve never done yoga before – can I still join?

Yes, please do! I host specific classes for beginners where you’ll be learning the foundations of yoga, postures and breathwork, with other beginners. However, all of my classes are suitable for any level and can be adapted to suit all attendees.

I have an injury / health condition – can I still practice yoga?

On the most part, yes. Before you join a class, you will be asked to complete a short waiver form. This helps me to know of any issues or specific adaptations needed during your classes. If you are concerned or have multiple physical challenges at present, please drop me a line so we can discuss this.

In most cases, classes and postures can be adapted to most ailments.

I struggle to relax or stay still. Is that going to be an issue?

Not at all. That is why most of us are here right? Learning to switch off and quieten your mind is a skill that we need to relearn. It is possible, but sometimes it takes practice.

If you’re in relaxation but need to get comfortable, you can! Moving around is ok. I can help you to anchor back into the moment and try and relax a little more. Sometimes it takes a bit of practice to get to the level of relaxation you aspire to be in. And that’s ok.

I struggle with anxiety and I am nervous about coming. What do I need to know?

If you have any specific questions at all, please just ask. Before joining my workshops or classes, you will receive an email with all the details on what to expect, what to bring, what to wear and how to get there. If I have missed something off that you would like to know, please just ask. I want you to feel comfortable and enjoy your time.

I want to try yoga but I don’t have time / feel comfortable in a group. What can I do?
