At Mental Wellness Retreats, we offer you a space to relax, unwind and process. Mental health issues are more common that ever before. Whether you are struggling with low mood, anxiety, stress or any other mental health issues or disorders – you are not alone.

We offer a serene escape from the chaos of everyday life, enabling you to have a space to gather your thoughts and work through some of the challenges mental ill health brings. Our retreat days are designed to give you evidence based coping skills whilst allowing yourself some time to rest and rejuvenate your mind and body. We believe in making mental healthcare accessible to all.

Our mental wellness retreats focus on holistic healing – meaning we use evidence based treatments or modalities, as used in the NHS, as well as spiritual practices that have stood the test of time. We’ll guide you through a journey of deep rest and emotional healing. Each retreat day has a different focus with varying itineraries.

  • Spring Detox Retreat Day: Step into Spring with this full day retreat. Leave feeling refreshed, grounded and nourished. This day includes mindfulness in nature, fire releasing ceremony, crystal crafts and nourishing buddha bowls. Saturday 6th June, 10am-4pm, The Barn Studio, near Brackley. The itinerary for the day includes:
      • Grounding Hatha Yoga (suitable for beginners)
      • Crystal based crafts for Mindfulness
      • Guided Meditation in Nature
      • Nutritious Homemade Vegan Buddha bowls & Sweet Treats provided by FoodTopia (all allergens can be catered for, please advise on booking)
      • Fire Releasing Ceremony
      • Plenty of Hot and Cold Drinks Throughout the Day

  • Teens Stress Management Mini Retreat Day: Tailored to meet the needs of young people, using my extensive experience of working with teenagers in the NHS. We will use a series of activities to help them unwind and learn new coping skills to use in life, specially great for exam period. All staff running the day have enhanced DBS clearance.
    • The half day will include:
    • Yoga specifically tailored to teens
    • Snacks & drinks galore
    • Individual Indian Head Massages or Back massages from a specialist masseuse
    • Mindfulness and Stress management techniques
    • Sunday 17th May 2026, 12pm-4pm, The Mill, Buckingham

  • Wintering Retreat Day: Slow down this winter, taking the time to pause and reflect before the Christmas rush. The day includes yoga, Pilates, restorative yoga, journaling, wintering well tips and delicious home made curry and cakes. Saturday 23rd November 2026, 10am-4pm, Be:Well Studio, Tingewick.
  • New Year Renewed You Retreat Day: Start your year off right with grounding yoga, journaling and intention setting for the year ahead, developing healthy habits workshop, nutritious and filling food, hot drinks and cakes. Saturday 2nd January 2027, 10am-4pm, The Barn Studio near Brackley
  • Self Love Retreat Day: Move over Valentines day, its all about self love first! A day for you to treat yourself and focus the most important person in your life – YOU. A day of face masks, mini reiki treatments, self love meditations and creative activities relating to appreciating yourself more! Saturday 13th February 2027, 10am-4pm. The Barn Studio, Near Brackley, NN13 5PJ.

  • Managing Low Mood: Understand what causes low mood and how to begin to tackle this using CBT techniques. Engage in a series of activities to help with managing low mood, with other people who really ‘get it’. Nutritious mood boosting lunch and snacks too.
  • Managing Anxiety: Understand how anxiety is caused using CBT techniques and how to begin to tackle this. Trial a series of coping mechanisms for anxiety, both cognitively and physically. Enjoy a series of relaxation methods to help you unwind. Plus delicious nutritious foods and drinks!

Residential Retreats

Portugal Yoga & Wellness Retreat Week: Take some time for you with sunshine, fresh air, yoga and rest. The week will include daily yoga practice and other modalities of self care for your mental health and wellbeing. Spend time by the pool, find something to read from the little library or perhaps enjoy some creative projects. There’s plenty of beautiful spaces to explore in the mountains. You may wish to opt for a guided walk or herb walk (additional 20 Euros pp) or opt for an in-house massage during your stay (50 Euros). 10th-17th October 2026, Yoga Evolution Portugal

  • All Inclusive Meals, Snacks and Drinks. Meals will be Plant Based and Organic. Dietary Requirements can bet catered for, please advise upon booking.

Weather and Travel:

  • The weather is expected to be around 19-23 degrees in October. Please bring layers as the evenings can get cooler.
  • Fly into Porto Airport or Lisbon Airport. There is a bus that runs from both for around 16 Euros each way. For more details please see: Travel to Lisbon or Travel to Porto
  • I will be getting the Easy Jet flight from Luton to Lisbon on Saturday 10th October at 12:25pm, if you wish to travel with a friendly face! So far, all retreaters are booked onto the same flight.
  • I will look at co-ordinating a shared taxi from Lisbon, if there is interest. Please email me at sophie@mentalwellnessretreats.co.uk to express this interest. Please note that this is not included in the retreat cost.

Terms & Conditions for Portugal Retreat October 2026

Cancellation by attendee:

A deposit of £250pp is required to book your place on this yoga retreat in Portugal (non-refundable.)  Cancellation before 1st April 26 (in writing) – Full refund of monies paid (less deposit). Cancellation from 1st April – 31st May 50% of total cost due. Cancellation from 1st June 26, no refund, credit or exchange.  It is a condition of booking that all participants agree to have personal insurance that covers all of their needs including personal cancellation.

Cancelation or retreat by Mental Wellness Retreats:

In the event that Mental Wellness Retreats decides to cancel the event, all money paid to Mental Wellness Retreats will be refunded. There is no liability for any other money paid to any other parties or for any other expenses incurred.

Mental Wellness Retreats reserves the right in extreme circumstances beyond their control to a) substitute the advertised teacher/facilitator for the retreat b) Use an alternative venue of equal or superior standard to the one advertised

Cancellation beyond control of Mental Wellness Retreats: In the event of Force Majeure/unforeseen circumstances that hinders, delays, curtails or leads to cancellation of any events Sophie Black / Mental Wellness Retreats will not be liable for any costs incurred or to repay any monies received. Participants will be expected to claim under their individual insurance. This includes but is not limited to, severe weather, acts of terrorism, disease epidemics, government actions, natural disasters, war, strikes, and failure of 3rd parties such as venues/caterers to provide their services.

In registering for any event or service you agree that Sophie Black / Mental Wellness Retreats, shall not be held responsible for any damage, loss or delay.

In registering for any event or service you agree to assume all risks associated with the event and or service and agree that no liability will be attached to Sophie Black / Mental Wellness Retreats (or any staff member or contractors working on behalf of Sophie Black / Mental Wellness Retreats) for any personal injury, illness, delay, loss or damages to property, finances or health.
